3 ingredient: Oreo & Cream Cheese, Dark Chocolate covered Truffles

 I mean...can these get any more good-looking??

I mean...can these get any more good-looking??

I don't know anybody who doesn't love Oreos...or any dessert involving Oreos! These Truffles are SUPER simple to make, SUPER indulgent and a fabulous inexpensive gift idea!!

3 ingredients, can it get any more simple?? Trust me... you're gonna want to reserve the spoon (and bowl) at the end of this, this recipe is just soooooo delicious you won't want to waste what you can taste :-)

This recipe makes about 35 truffles - simply double it for a larger batch to make many gifts bags. They turn out a good size once finished, and are very rich, so I did 5 truffles per gift bag (for 1 person)

3 Ingredients:

  • 300 grams Oreos (I used 2 x 150g packs original Oreos)
  • 300 grams Cream Cheese (I used Philadelphia Light but any cream cheese works fine)
  • 300g Dark Chocolate (or milk if you prefer) for coating at end (this was 3x100g slabs)

Method:

  • Line a large tray with baking/parchment paper & set aside
  • Put all Oreos in food processor / Blender
  • Pulse till Oreos are broken up / crumbly
  • Add all Cream Cheese to the Food processor & blend with the Oreos until smooth & creamy
  • Using 2 teaspoons (1 to scoop 1 to release onto tray) place truffle size balls onto lined tray - they won't be perfectly round & thats ok! You can always remold them later once they've hardened, but I personally like a home-made look :-)
  • Once all are on the tray, refrigerate for at-least 6 hours or even better overnight (make sure your fridge doesn't have any open/strong smelling foods near the tray - as these truffles will be uncovered)
  • Before removing the hardened truffles from the fridge, melt the chocolate in a bowl in the microwave (Stir every 40 seconds then continue until fully melted)
  • Remove Truffles from fridge once hardened, and dip in melted chocolate to coat using 2 forks
  • Be sure to work fast, as the truffles will become soft when dipped into the hot chocolate
  • Set aside on a new lined baking tray & refrigerate again for 1-2 hours until hard
  • Package for gifting or store in air tight container in fridge
